People's Trust for Endangered Species

Our work is varied and extensive, ranging from direct support for conservationists, in the UK and abroad, to involving the public and volunteers in practical action to help specific species and habitats.

We have a special focus on British mammals and coordinate the National Dormouse Monitoring Programme, as well as running one-off and ongoing surveys with the public's help to generate information about distribution and population trends of a number of mammal species

We are the lead partner for three Biodiversity Action Plans (those for greater stag beetle, noble chafer beetle and violet click beetle), collecting records in, for example, the Great Stag Hunt surveys

Recently, we've undertaken two habitat-mapping projects with the help of volunteers, mapping traditional orchards in England and Wales (Traditional Orchard Survey), and hedgerows in the former (Hedgerows for Dormice Project).

We also own and manage two woodland and traditional orchard sites.
