We beg herewith to hand you the Dress Wwaitstcoat, which, we trust will be found quite satisfactory.
We regret very much to say that the "eye" has not been found. The workshop had been searched in every possible way without result,s and after close questioning the workman admitted that he took the eye & hookd off and placed them in his mouth for safety whilste he was preparing the Eends of the Rribbon, he cannot understand how it happened, but he swallowed [] the eye &+ was afraid to say so, for fear of being "chaffed" by his fellow workman. It is extremely annoying, and & we are very sorry about it. We can only say that we shall be very pleased to have an eye made to match the hook at your convenience --..
