Alfred Russel Wallace, Esq[uire]., LL.D.

Dear Sir,

I am sorry to get your letter telling me that you have already arranged to write for another publisher a book on the lines that I suggested on behalf of my friend. I hope you will feel at liberty to tell me the name of the publishers for whom you are doing the book in order that I may refer my American friend to them in the hope that they have not yet arranged for the American rights.

Hoping to hear form you | Believe me, dear Sir, | Very faithfully yours, | Grant Richards [signature]
