Dear Sir[missing text]1
[Missing text] sending me your fine monograp[h] [missing text]bes. Alas! I cannot read Germa[n] [missing text] [s]ure I should find the greatest interest in it. The maps are beautiful. I will some day [sic] ask some friend to read it and give me the essence. Celebes2 had a fascination for me beyond any other district I have ever visited, and I always look back upon it with pleasure & wonder.
Yours very truly | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]
