Rosehill, Dorking

Dec[embe]r 29th 1877

Dear Sir,

I am not acquainted with any person of the name of Wise at Edinburgh, and I think it most likely that he did not personally collect the Crania you refer to or I should have heard of his having travelled in those regions. Some resident in Edinburgh, - as Professor Archer, Director of the Museum of Science & Art, - would be better able to give you some information.

I remain | Yours very faithfully | Alfred R. Wallace [signature]

D[octo]r E. Hamy
