Dear Sir

Messrs Geo. Routledge & Sons have offered to travel "The Wonderful Century Reader" through their educational travellers who visit all the principal Primary & Secondary Schools in the United Kingdom if we can see our way to let them purchase copies from us at half the published price (i.e. 31/-) twenty five as twenty four = 11d 1/2 --

With experience to clause (C) of para[graph] 2 of one experiment would you be prepared to accept a 1/2 Royalty on such scales instead of 3d?

[[2]] We think it is probable that it may introduce the book to circles which it has never yet reached and that the sales may be considerably increased.

To pay a 3d Royalty on such sales would leave us a scarcely appreciable margin of profit.

Yours truly | [illeg. signature]

Dr. Alfred Russel Wallace
