Dr. Alfred Russel Wallace.

Dear Sir,

Wonderful Century

We applied some time ago to Messers Hutchinson & Co. for election as given in you hit [?], but they said we should have to get permission from the original publishers of the various books.

We have been in much correspondence with various publishers and authors, who again refer us to other authors who gave them permission.

We enclose letters from Messers Flammarion[?] of Paris saying they [[2]] cannot trace the block we want.

Yours faithfully | FRS [?] [signature]
