Dear Mr. Wallace

Thee again I desire to congratulate you on your Birthday -- this time your ninetieth & sincerely wish you many Happy returns of the day & so glad to find you are so vigorous & so full of enthusiasm in so many good causes.

If you remember I thanked you [[2]] for the delight I had received in reading your "Amazon" & you advised me to read The Malay Archipelago", this I have done with much profit & pleasure, but the "Amazon" holds first place & I am now going through it for the fifth time & your portrait from "Daily News & Header" is mow added & my children are so delighted as their [[3]] Dad in its perusal.

With kindest wishes | I remain | Yours very sincerely | Thomas Barron [signature]
