Mr Wallace’s notes deserve a place in our transactions Journal, and being of very moderate length ought to be inserted without curtailment. They form the most authentic account of the part of New Guinea which he visited, and the only [1 word illeg] one by an Englishman. They do not include the department in which Mr Wallace is strongest, that of Natural History, which no doubt, he reserves for another occasion.
