The following Paper has been referred to you, viz.:-- Letter from Mr Alfred R Wallace giving an account of Singapore & Malacca as far as Mount Ophir &c.
I have to request that on or before the 10 April you will return the Paper, in a Sealed Packet, with a Report in writing, in which you will be pleased to state your opinion:--
1st, Whether the Paper be ORIGINAL?
2dly, Whether it should be printed in the Journal?
3dly, Whether it can be altered or abridged with advantage; and IN WHAT MANNER?
4thly, Whether any, and what Illustrations, should accompany it?
