Dr. Alfred Russel Wallace

Sir

A customer of mine, who has been reading your book "The World of Life" asks me to ascertain for him the origin of the four quotations given, two proceeding & two following the title pages.

I have identified No. 3 "all nature &c.", but cannot trace the others. Can you, without trouble, give me the information required, & greatly oblige[.]

Yours faithfully | James Bain [signature]
