Thank you very much for your kind letter of April 3rd. I am very glad that you will allow me to dedicate my book to you.
I think it will interest you to know that I am shortly about to take to Dutch New Guinea another [] expedition, of which the primary object is to make collections of the fauna and flora of that wonderful island. A foolish paragraph appeared in the paper to the effect that my object was first just[?] to climb the mountain, but my object is to reach a high point in the mountain, preferably about 6000 ft altitude, and then to make collections of animals and plants. I hope also to reach the snow line, as I am []4 particularly interested in Alpine plants.
I expect to leave England about the middle of May and I propose to enter the country by the Utakwa River about 60 miles to the East of the point where we were on the last expedition, and I hope that with a better knowledge of the local condition we shall be able to reach the high ground, when the expedition will be of extreme interest.
Believe me | Yours very truly | A. F. R. Wollaston5 [signature].
