Training
The lab team has a comprehensive variety of expertise and we are happy to train people in any of our areas of expertise. We offer assistance and advice to all staff as well as external enquiries.
We are happy to tailor teaching and training to your needs.
We currently run training for:
- undergraduate and post graduate courses
- individual students and researchers (staff and visitors)
- teachers and school children
Examples of our training include:
- Imperial College Molecular Systematics MSc practicals
- A’ level days for schools - demonstrations of DNA extraction and analysis.
- School visits to assist with curriculum practical work - on or off-site
- One-to-one training of general techniques and theory to staff and visitors
- In-depth tutoring related to specific specimens on request
- Personal service from the NHM Sequencing Facility for internal and external clients
- Co-supervision of students, under-graduates, MSc, MRes, and PhD students
Science Uncovered
On 23 Sept 2011, as part of the European festival of science, we took part in this event- allowing members of the public behind the scenes, to meet our scientists and learn about our work. You can view the explaining cards for this event here: Molecular labs explaining cards.
