The Library and Archives provides access to IT and copying facilities, lockers and a document delivery service.
Coats and bags are not permitted in the reading rooms. Standard-sized lockers are available for smaller items, but if you have larger items with you such as suitcases or holdalls we ask that you use the Museum cloakroom facilities. These are located in the Central Hall and at the Exhibition Road entrance and charge a small fee.
Computers are available in the reading room or you can use your own laptop/mobile device. Access to computers is provided for searching and viewing our online collections. If you wish to work on your research we ask that you use your own laptop.
Wi fi is available and there are numerous power points. We remind international visitors to bring plug adaptors with them.
The reading room is wheelchair accessible and we have two hearing loops on each side of the enquiry desk. We have JAWS screen-reading software, and an Atlas magnifier to enhance text size and adjust background colour.
