The Library today
Every year we welcome up to 3,000 visitors, provide access to 5,000 items, and answer 13,000 enquiries.
The Library continues to acquire both rare and current material. New material is purchased, presented or obtained through our exchange programme.
Services
The Library now operates a combined Reading Room service where visitors can request items from any of the collections. We also offer a document delivery service and copying facilities.
Digitisation
We are moving towards online delivery of information and hold an extensive collection of electronic journals.
The Library is a founding partner in the Biodiversity Heritage Library project, which is digitising many of our older journals. We have already digitised a number of our art collections.
