More about Childhood

Miranda Lowe

Working with the Blaschka models, some of the Museum's most treasured objects, invigorated Miranda's interest in the history of Museum objects. These beautifully detailed glass models of marine invertebrates inspired Miranda to delve into the stories behind their creation. She finds the collections a source of inspiration and continues her research as Senior Curator and Collections Manager of Aquatic Invertebrates.

She fondly remembers her initial experiences of the Museum, both in visiting the public galleries as a child and being given a tour of the collections 'behind-the-scenes' at her first interview.

You can visit the Blaschka models in the Museum's Cadogan Treasures Gallery.
