Listen to Richard describe his first school trip to the Museum.More about Childhood
As a young boy, Richard was fascinated by animal bones and would enjoy undertaking mini-expeditions to find them (and sometimes bury them!) in his back garden. This interest led him to the Museum, where he recalls the awe-struck manner in which he beheld the great Whale Hall and the Museum's intricate mosaics depicting natural life.
This excitement in making new discoveries fed into his career at the Museum. Richard has a particular passion for the mammal collections at the Museum, with a specific interest in disease abnormalities found in animals. Having worked on various exhibitions around the Museum, Richard is dedicated to seeking new ways for exhibition design to excite and engage the public.
