Listen to Sara describe her job interview.More about Sara Russell
Interviews and first-days can be both nerve-wracking and exciting, but all are memorable for our Museum's staff. From difficult interview questions to discovering their own way through the Museum's labyrinthine corridors, each has their own particular (and sometimes peculiar!) memories of starting work at the Museum.
And yet not all routes to museum work are necessarily alike. Many of our scientists and curators have relevant qualifications, but some have taken less traditional routes. Entering the Museum as a 16-year-old school leaver or as a well-established researcher, first experiences of the Museum are long-remembered. Listen to these clips to see the many routes which an individual may take into museum work and how these pathways have changed over the past 60 years.
