Nereidae
Large elongate worms . Prostomium usually with 2 pairs of antennae but always with a pair of bi-articulate palps. Peristome with 3 or (usually) 4 pairs of tentacular cirri . Eversible proboscis with a pair of jaws and many chitinous paragnaths or papillae. Parapodia biramous and usually without gills; chaetae mainly compound, both falcigers and spinigers.
