Elongate but dorsoventrally flattened bodies. 1-3 short antennae and a pair of ventral palps. Peristomium with 2 pairs of tentacular cirri. Flattened notosetae in transverse rows either held erect or having the appearance of tiles on a roof. Neurosetae compound falcigers.
