Order Clypeasteroida L. Agassiz, 1835

Diagnosis	Irregular echinoids with: multiple ambulacral pores and tube feet associated with each ambulacral plate; monobasal apical disc.
Range	Late Palaeocene to Recent; worldwide.
Remarks	Clypeasteroids are easily distinguished from their closest relatives the oligopygids, by having multiple microscopic pores to each ambulacral plate, usualy arranged in broad bands.
