Family Echinoneidae Agassiz & Desor, 1847, p. 143

Diagnosis	Echinoneina with: Periproct large and oral; midway between peristome and periproct; Ambulacra narrowing towards peristome; no expansion of pore-pairs.
Range	Eocene to Recent, Caribbean and Indo-Pacific region.
Remarks	Distinguished from Pygaulidae by the extreme simplicity of the ambulacra adorally, and by the more adoral position of the periproct.
