| Classification and/or Status | Indeterminate spatangoid. Insufficient is known about the plastron plating and fasciole distribution to be able to place this species with confidence. Best treated as Micrasterina incertae sedis. |
| Remarks | Cotteau (1886, p. 82) pointed out that Pomel's description of the type species (first described by him) was inacurrate and misleading and treated Cardiopatagus as a junior subjective synonym of Eupatagus.
