Diagnostic Features	Test large and triangular in outline, with wide but distinct anterior notch at ambitus and a deep, narrow groove leading to peristome on the oral surface; thin-shelled. Apical disc with ?three, possibly four gonopores. Compact. Ambulacra all similar with minute pores only. Peristome subcircular and facing anteriorly into frontal groove. Plastron plating orthosternous; sternal plate followed by a pair of symmetrical episternal plates. Plastron plating disjunct. Ambulacra I and V continuous on oral surface; not separated by plates of interambulacra 1 and 4. Scattered small tubercles distributed over the aboral surface; slightly larger tubercles close to apex. Periproct inframarginal, with no overarching interambulcral hood. No posterior rostrum. No subanal fasciole.

Classification and/or Status	Holasteroida, Meridosternata, Urechinina, Pourtalesiidae. Monotypic.
Remarks	Differs from Pourtalesia in having an inframarginal periproct. Closest to Cystocrepis but differing from that taxon in having ambulacra I and V with continuous plating. Agassiz, A. 1879.
