Diagnostic Features
  • Test low domal.
  • Apical disc unknown.
  • Ambulacra about half the width of the interambulacra; plating trigeminate. Pore-pairs obviously offset in arcs of three forming an adradial band. Each plate with a prominent adradial primary tubercle; wide perradial zone with just sparse secondaries and miliaries.
  • Interambulacral plates much wider than tall. A distinct central primary tubercle with two smaller flanking secondaries on either side on ambital plates. Smaller miliaries and granules scattered over remainder of plate.
  • Strong epistromal ornament of ridges, forming rather distinct zig-zag pattern (parallel to plaste sutures) interradially.
  • Peristome unknown.
  • Spines and lantern unknown.

Euechinoidea; Camarodonta; Temnopleuroida; Trigonocidaridae.

Monotypic.

Remarks

Philip (1969) suggested that Goniosigma enysi belonged to Grammechinus. However, Grammechinus is a toxopneustid and lacks sculpting.
