Paradicoptella Jeannet, in Lambert & Jeannet, 1935, p. 42

Diagnostic Features
  • Test small (13 mm diameter); inflated with rounded ambitus.
  • Apical disc small; plates not preserved.
  • Ambulacra almost as wide as interambulacra; straight; trigeminate; pore pairs uniserially arranged. Primary tubercle to each triad, lying adjacent to pore zone. remainder of plate with miliaries and granules only. Large wedge-shaped pits at triple suture points.
  • Interambulacral plates with a pair of large wedge-shaped pits along horizontal sutures on either side of small primary tubercle. Plate appears hexagonal and just a few small secondary tubercles surround the primary.
  • Primary tubercles small, imperforate and non-crenulate.
  • Peristome sunken and relatively large.
  • Spines and lantern unknown.

Classification and/or Status

Euechinoidea, Camarodonta; Temnopleuroida, Temnopleuridae.

Subjective junior synonym of Temnotrema Agassiz, 1869.

Remarks

Mortensen (1943) treated this as a synonym of  Temnotrema.
