vegematic box-corer

The photograph shows a 'vegematic' box-corer; the box-corer can be used as an alternative to sampling with DSV Alvin. Although sediment obtained in cores from the box-corer is more disturbed than that collected by Alvin, the cores are still of sufficient quality for nematode abundance and diversity measurements.
