Following on from four successful workshops, CERCAMS-5 will focus on Russian nickel (+PGE) deposits. Russia is currently the world's biggest nickel producer with anticipated potential for increasing its reserves.
Previous workshops have attracted international participants, linking researchers from Russia and the Central Asian states with the mining industry and international academics.
Confirmed presentations will include reviews
of magmatic sulphide nickel (+PGE) deposits, highlighting Norilsk,
Kola-Karelia and Kamchatka. In addition reviews of the nickel and
PGE potential of Russia will be presented by the All Russia Geological

will be supplemented by poster and sample displays.
