Nye & Fletcher (1991) stated:-

No originally included species was cited on page 7 but on page 23 a reference was given to Microlep. pls 4 & 10 where the only included species was cited as 'T. biselliella' an incorrect subsequent spelling.

TINEOLA was included within the subfamily TINEIDAE: TINEINAE by Davis & Robinson, in Kristensen (1999).
