P. boleti is an unjustified emendation of Tinea boletella Fabricius, 1794, Ent. Syst. 3 (2): 287. Unavailable designation of type-species: Tinea guttella Fabricius, 1781, a nominal species not originally included in Scardia, and not linked with one of the originally included nominal species when designated by Boisduval 1836, Hist. nat. Insectes (Spec. gén. Lépid.) 1: 137.
