The Natural History Museum is the UK's National Focal Point for the Global Taxonomic Initiative (GTI).
As GTI National Focal Point the Museum is charged with coordinating implementation of the GTI Programme of Work.
In order to fulfil its role as National Focal Point the Museum is working with other taxonomic institutions and organisations involved in biodiversity conservation in the UK and internationally to establish a network of excellence in taxonomy in support of biodiversity conservation.
