EndNote

EndNote is a bibliographic database and reference management system for Windows and Macintosh operating systems. It allows you to systematically collect and store your references in a database specifically designed for bibliographic data - journal articles, books, book chapters, conference proceedings, magazine articles, audiovisual material, patents, or even your own reference type definitions.

EndNote also enables you to transfer groups of references retrieved from online bibliographic databases into your EndNote library and create bibliographies in a variety of formats.

How do I obtain the EndNote software?

The Museum has a site licence for EndNote 8. To have a copy installed on your Museum PC, please contact I.T.

Purchasing individual copies of EndNote

A free trial version of EndNote can be downloaded from the EndNote website should you wish to evaluate this from outside the Museum. Download EndNote from the EndNote website.

The EndNote site licence allows installation of the software on any of the Museum's computers. For those who wish to have EndNote installed on their own personal laptop or home computer, a version can be purchased at a reduced price.

To make such a personal purchase, please request a copy of the "Application for Personal Purchase of EndNote" from the Electronic Services Librarian from whom current prices can also be obtained. This should be completed and then countersigned by your Head of Department.
