Blue-crowned Parakeets, Aratinga acuticauda. There are probably four species of parakeet that have established populations in the south of England, probably descendants from accidental or deliberate releases of captive birds.

Library information and enquiries

The Botany Library collection represents the entire modern period of botanical scientific discovery. It contains monographic titles dating from 1475, periodical titles dating from the late 1700s, manuscripts and an outstanding collection of botanical artwork, which is one of the largest in the country.

The literature held gives world subject coverage in floras, plant taxonomy, economic botany, botanical art, history and biography for flowering and non-flowering plants. We have limited coverage of the fungi, because this is a specialist area for Kew Gardens.
