CERCAMS serves as a centre for research into the geodynamics and metallogenesis of the former Soviet Union (FSU) and neighbouring territories, including China and Mongolia.
The region of Central Asia, Russia and adjacent territories contains vast mineral wealth. During Soviet times many organisations conducted their own research and exploration.
The aim of CERCAMS is to:
Extension of this work, with the active collaboration of academic institutes of the region, shall serve to enhance and supplement the existing knowledge and skills base of the region.
Check here for future workshop dates as well as details of conferences and field trips.
A byproduct of CERCAMS research is the creation of a variety of products. These include high quality GIS-layers and supporting data.
CERCAMS publishes many printed products including monographs, field guidebooks and research papers.
