The Natural History Museum offers comprehensive analytical and imaging facilities and DNA sequencing on a consultancy or service basis. Our new purpose-built laboratories are well-equipped with a wide range of modern facilities, and are staffed by a team of specialists experienced in preparation, analysis and interpretation of a broad spectrum of biological, mineralogical and material specimens.
Underpinning much of our world-class taxonomic and collection-based research, environmental programmes and consultancy, is our in-house capability to acquire the relevant chemical, structural and imaging information on diverse natural samples. Staff who manage the laboratories and develop new techniques using our wide range of analytical equipment are all qualified scientists with extensive experience of working with natural samples.
