Collections management seminars 2009 - 2010

These seminars will present up-to-date information relating to the care and conservation of the collections across the institution, and within museums generally.

The seminars are primarily of interest to:

  • collections management staff
  • conservators
  • librarians in our Science Group

Museum professionals from other Museums, Universities, Institutions, Societies are also welcome to attend i.e.

  • Museums Association
  • Museums Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) 
  • International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM)
  • Natural Sciences Collections Association (NatSCA), etc. 

Seminars may also be of interest to staff in our Public Engagement Group who are involved with collections.

Seminars are free and no booking is required. For catering purposes please let the organiser Clare Valentine know if a large group plan to attend.

Overview: Nick Poole, Chief Executive of the Collections Trust will give an introduction to the organisation’s work. Susie Hillhouse will give an introduction to the BSI/Collections Trust standard for collections management. Alex Dawson, Head of Programmes will give an overview of Collections Link and related services.
