Historic collections containing fossil sponges
The Museum's fossil sponge holdings include many important collections connected with major characters in the history of palaeontology.
Highlights include:
- Mantell Collection, consisting of specimens illustrated in The Fossils of the South Downs.
- GJ Hinde Collection - Hinde was the person who documented much of the fossil sponge collection.
