  Using the search interface

Search for your term by selecting an index to search and entering your search term in the text field provided.

Choose full to perform a general search. This will return the most results, but not necessarily the best matches. You may narrow your search by selecting any of the other options provided in the drop-down menu, namely:

  • Name
  • Subject
  • Place

  Keywords

Make use of the keyword navigation button navigation button at the top of the record pages. The key words listed in the keywords section contain more terms which could help you locate related information.

  Wildcards (*)

Putting a '*' at the end of a search term will cause the search engine to match any words beginning with your search term. This functionality comes in handy when searching for a term for which you're not too sure of the correct spelling.
