Watch your students become transformed into the chief protagonists of the Great Evolution Debate of 1860. The scene is set and the characters introduced using the statues, displays and the Museum's cathedral-like architecture. Students re-create the debate in the galleries using exhibits as evidence for their character's argument. How would Huxley defend Darwin's views if he'd had access to the science fo the Primates Gallery? Which differences between humans and other primates might Bishop Wilberforce highlight today? Hand the characters over to your students to find out, as they bring their own unique spark to the Victorian Debate.
