Letter from Wallace to his sister Fanny announcing the birth of his son William, dated December 1872.
Wallace wrote this short note to his sister Fanny announcing the birth of his third child, William Greenell Wallace. Wallace remarks, 'the baby weighs more than Bertie did, and seems to be about an inch taller, and decidedly better looking than Bertie was at the same age'.
Wallace was devoted to his family. He and his wife Annie already had a boy (Bertie) and a girl (Violet). Sadly, Bertie died at the age of seven.
