Press cutting of an article by Wallace entitled Science in 1907, dated January 1908.
Wallace produced this article for the newspaper New York World, when asked to write a review of science in 1907. In his original manuscript Wallace writes about the advances in understanding natural selection. The full article is not reproduced here - the editor has left out Wallace's rather scathing attack on 'mutationists' and 'Mendelians' (those who agreed with the ideas of Mendel about heredity and genetics). Wallace never shied away from making his opinions public, whether controversial or not.
