Sandra Knapp is an internationally respected botanist and an expert in the taxonomy and phylogeny of the nightshade family. She is currently a Researcher in the Department of Botany at the Natural History Museum, and is actively involved in improving the public understanding of science. Sandra is the author of several books on botany and its history, including The Gilded Canopy and the award-winning Potted Histories.
Botanists Griselda Marín and Bélen Jiménez and entomologist Antonio Claudio Ferreira da Costa worked full time in the Reserve.
Other project participants included John Kochalka and Bolivar Garcete of the Museo Nacional de Historia Natural of Paraguay, Claudia Mercolli and Alberto Yanosky of the Fundación Moisés Bertoni and the many botanists and entomologists who identified material sent to them.
