Summary

I am a botanist working as Curator-Flowering Plants of the Seed Plant (General Herbarium). I am responsible for day to day care and maintenance of the collections, mobilise the specimens in terms of digital requests, loan, public access and dealing with public queries. Areas of plant that interest me are: Ethnobotany, medicinal uses of plants, cross cultural ethnobotany, insectivorous plants, tropical plants and medicinal folklore. I am also interested in the taxonomy and systematics of Fabids,Vitaceae, Rutaceae and Nyctaginaceae and collections management. I am keep to develop the collections via curation, research, targeted aquisitions, field trips, exchange of specimens, digitising the herbarium, improving the standard of care of collections, infrastructure, storage, updating taxonomy, access to specimens, enhancing visitor visits, sending specimens on exhibitions, loans, Citizen Science, Bioblitz, education, use of specimens in arts, facilitating collaborations, fundraising and scholarly ouptuts.
