Summary

My principal role is to curate and manage the Fish Collection and the associated digital catalogue and to assist people wishing to use them. Areas of responsibility and expertise include: • Wet Preservation, including fixation, clearing and staining, transferring from formalin to alcohol, re-spiriting and re-hydration. • Identification of midwater fishes. • Organisation and History of the Fish Collection. • Databasing and Digitisation. Maintaining and enhancing the Fish Collection catalogue (in KE EMu) and creating and adding digital images (x-rays, CT scans, photographs). • Auditing. I am currently auditing the type specimens held in the Fish Collection (over 12000 lots) in order to create an accurate catalogue.
