Nye (1975) stated:-

N. valligera is a junior subjective synonym of Phalaena vestigialis Hufnagel, 1766, Berlin. mag. 2: 422. Throughout the Vervzeichniss all the generic names were proposed in the plural and then used in the singular for the first binomen. This genus was proposed as * Agronomae and then used again in the plural for the first binomen. This clearly inadvertently or was later corrected in Hübner, [1826] 1816, Verz. bekannter Schmett. Anzeiger: 36.
