Fletcher & Nye (1984) stated:-

Ragonot cited as type-species Margaronia brizoalis Walker, 1859 (emending the name unjustifiably to Cirrhochrista brizonalis), a nominal species originally doubtfully included in Cirrhochrista and therefore excluded from valid designation as type-species under the Code, Article 67(h). At the same time, however, Ragonot placed brizoalis as a senior synonym of aetherialis, a nominal species originally included positively in Cirrhochrista. Under the Code, Article 69 (a)(iv), this designation constitutes the fixation of the positively included nominal species as the type-species. C. aetherialis was again designated as type-species of Cirrhochrista by Warren, 1892 Ann. Mag. nat. Hist. (6) 9: 430.
