A junior homonym of Barsine Walker, 1854, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus. 2: 546 - Lepid. Arctiidae. The objective replacement name is Meyrickia Butler, 1884. Barsine was again proposed by Meyrick, 1884, Trans. N.Z. Inst. 16: 100.
