Fletcher (1979) stated:-

This genus was originally proposed in the Dioptidae, but has since been transferred to the Geometridae. I have not found any published reference to the transfer.

Parsons et al. (1999) included PARRHESIA Warren, 1897 as a junior synonym of ASTYOCHIA Druce, 1885.

Parsons et al. (1999) included 28 species in the genus ASTYOCHIA.

Pitkin (2002) included Parrhesia Warren, 1897; and Lissocharis Warren, 1900 as junior synonyms of Astyochia Druce, 1885.
