Notes:
Godmann & Silvan, 1887 (Biol. Centr. Amer., Lepid., Rhop. 2 : 99) designated Thecla lebena Hewitson, 1868 as the type-species for Theclopsis from the Neotropics. Butler [April, 1888] proposed the new genus Tatura with the type-species Tatura lebena. This was certainly an error for Hypolycaena lebona Hewitson, 1865. A proposal was made to designate Hypolycaena lebona as the type-species for Tatura Butler [1888] by Cowan 1970, The Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 27 (1) : 64. This proposal was granted using the Plenary Power's of the Commision in 1973 (Opinion 994) and Hypolycaena lebona was placed on the Specific Names in Zoology and Tatura was placed on the Official List of Generic Names in Zoology, The Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature 30 (1) : 19.
