Notes:
Hemming (1967) stated:-

When establishing this nominal genus, Hübner cited four names as being the names of nominal species referable to it. Of these names three were manuscript names, the only name which had been duly published with an indication being licks Cramer. The species so named is therefore the type-species by monotypy. Cramer placed this species (loc. cit. 3 : 74) in the "Danaus Festivus", group of the genus Papilio, thus indicating that he considered it to be a butterfly. It is however actually a Castniid moth.

Telchin Hübner, 1825 was treated as a senior synonym of Graya Buchecker 1880, by Lamas, 1995, Revista Peruana De Entomologia 37, 1995 : 86. [Both genera are Castniid Moths].

Telchin Hübner, 1825 was treated as a senior synonym of Leucocastnia Houlbert 1918 by Lamas, 1995, Revista Peruana De Entomologia 37, 1995 : 86.

The type-species for Telchin Hübner, [1825] was designated as Papilio licus Drury by Lamas, 1995 Revista Peruana De Entomologia 37, 1994 : 86.

The higher classification used here follows Lamas (2008).
